On a business trip to NYC last year, my husband was stricken with a debilitating disease. The concierge at Park Hyatt recommended Dr. Primas who came right over, doctor's bag in hand, and facilitated our transfer to the hospital. That began our 5 week odyssey in the NSICU of Mt. Sinai, where Dr. Primas became our primary care physician and our lifesaver, literally. He was always a phone call away, came to the hospital every day, checked in by phone every night and was instrumental in working the insurance system to get us MEDIVACed home to California. All of the specialists Dr. Primas brought into our case were top notch - and his recommendations and follow-up and check-ins have continued throughout our year of recovery. Dr. Primas is without a doubt, the most dedicated, compassionate, reasonable, committed and skillful physician I have ever encountered. While I think of concierge doctors as people who come and go - Dr. Primas was with us throughout - so if you're in need of quality, urgent and compassionate care - there is no one else I'd rather have on speed dial.

I was in NYC with mom for about 3 weeks taking a course. We came all the way from the middle east. After arriving to new york, perhaps because of the long flight, she got congested and had a very bad cough. So we went to the nearest City MD near our hotel, the doctor seemed so terrified knowing that we came from the Arab region and started asking about MERS and things that were completely irrelevant to what was happening to her. Not only that, but he immediately prescribed her an antibiotic without any blood tests or thorough check up. So the next day she took the antibiotic + the cough syrup he prescribed her and her situation got worse. Way worse than anyone can imagine. Upon recommendations and reviews we contacted Dr Primas for urgent in-house care and not only did they give us a quick appointment but they also welcomed us to the clinic in case the time was not suitable. I am not going to take longer than I did but he actually asked about her entire medical history and was completely considerate of the entire situation and recommended a treatment only after assessing her medical condition. He usually prefers not to treat his patients with an antibiotic which is what we always prefer as patients so it was perfect. The antibiotic prescribed to her gave her severe effects and nausea so Dr Primas treated her with a shot (injection) and she literally felt better in 5 minutes. He was also kind enough to prescribe me medications to avoid getting a flu while studying for my course in new york city during that period. He also does not charge for follow ups after the first appointment, in case you needed to see him again. I left his clinic so happy and relieved and took her to the park right accross from Dr Primas building for fresh air, and we enjoyed the rest of our time together. If you are reading this, thank you so much again, Dr. I know who to go to, whenever I am in NYC now.

Dr.Primas is by far one of New Yorks finest doctors. He actually caters to his patients and will even make house calls if you cannot come to him. He will never give you aquick fix...He takes his time with you and makes sure that he is giving you the advice and medication you need, one that he knows will get you back on your feet. I'm so lucky to have found Dr.Primas I had just moved to NYC and was staying at a temp apartment, ended up with bed bugs and a spider bite. I didn't know what it was so I went to the emergency hospital on 7th ave in the Village. they gave me shots and pills after long waits and horrible staff I went home feeling worse. This week I got sick. So sick that my fever rocketed to 102 and stayed there. I couldn't walk since my shivers were so bad and just kept having waves of nausea. So, from the comfort of my bed and under 3 blankets I called my doctors office for an emergency appointment. After being hung up on and transferred to a voicemail twice in an effort to speak with a triage nurse, I finally spoke to a live human being who told me I could make an emergency appointment...for April 13. Yes, my friends, that would be an emergency appointment two weeks out. Goodbye Continuum Health. And hello, Dr. Primas. Seemingly too good to believe, Dr. Primas' receptionist: answered the phone, was courteous and informative, and booked me an appointment that same day. Wow. The only hiccup is that you must pay for the appointment and then get reimbursed for the treatment by your provider. I think it's just if your a new patient but either way I didn't care, I needed treatment. His office is cozy, serene and .. empty. It's just him there with a real office and a little exam room to the side. He was immediately friendly in a not creepy and not fake way. He answered questions, did tests and the entire time managed to keep me as unfreaked out as possible. There was no nurse...just me and him, and for at least 20-30 minutes straight! When I close my eyes and dream about health care, this is what I see. Sure, the bill at the end sucked but it'll be reimbursed so that's fine. It's so worth skipping the creepy fluorescent waiting room, condescending doctors, snappy nurses and impossible appointments I've had at other practices. Dr. Primas has been doing this for over 17 years and he does it right. In the end, I am sad to say I've been suffering from strep throat for the past few days but thanks to my new doctor, I'm winning the battle.

It all started a week before Christmas, working long hours to finish projects that were on a tight deadline. Long hours, and the constantly changing weather gave me a nasty cold, the cold turned into a sinus infection. Christmas morning my throat pain became unbearable, so I had to find a doctor to see. I quickly found Dr Primas's website via google, and placed a call. His answering service promptly transferred my call to him, and we setup an appointment. I chose to go to his office on 72nd and 5th ave, but he also makes house calls for about $500 (very reasonable). I was quickly diagnosed with a sinus infection, he prescribed some antibiotics and told me where the closest 24 hour pharmacy was. I was told to call him if I was not feeling better in 48 hours. Its only been 5 hours and I'm home, medicated and already starting to feel like myself again. I've found my new Dr, I'd never go anywhere else again. If you are a NY resident or just visiting Dr. Primas is the best choice in New York City for Urgent Care.

I should have written this review long ago as I've been a patient of Dr. Primas' for over a year now and have been nothing if not absolutely thrilled with the level of care I've received. During our move to New York from San Francisco, my wife and I stayed at the Eventi Hotel in Chelsea. The staff at the Eventi recommended Dr. Primas, and I can safely say it was to date the best recommendation for any service we've received since moving here. Dr. Primas is not only astute, detail oriented and thorough, he's also incredibly HUMAN. In this, this world of "you stab 'em, we slab 'em" assembly-line-style-healthcare, Dr. Primas is the glaring exception. He takes the time to really know his patients on a personal level and has a bedside manner that makes you feel truly cared for. He accepts cash or credit card only (you bill your insurance on the back end) and his fee is slightly higher than average, but for what you get in terms of level of professionalism, expertise and genuine care, Dr. Primas is well worth it!

A clear diagnosis and he directed me with great speed to do the proper research needed. Without his knowledgeable choices and advice, it all could have ended far worse. First, let me apologize for my behavior when we met. I did not mean to be confrontational, but please understand I am a student and was afraid of paying for a consultation fee at your office. A few friends said they went to shots clinics only to get their yellow fever vaccines without a consultation fee involved (only to find out this was not the case in New York). I did go on the CDC website and got a list of travel immunizations needed for Tanzania and thankfully I came to you and realized for my trip, I didn’t need half of them. While I was at first put off by needing a consultation at your office, I realized that in the end, I paid less for the consult and vaccinations than I originally thought that the vaccinations alone would cost (as my friends came to find out)! Also, the consult was invaluable, no matter what I read in travel books and seen on official websites, nothing compares to the practical knowledge and experience of a trained travel specialist like yourself. Some of my friends from California and Florida who just got travel shots, became ill (and unfortunately injured) on the trip, but thankfully I listened (and remembered) all of your advice and am pleased to say that not only was my trip enjoyable and uneventful, but I am back home three weeks now and feel great. Anyway, I just want to say thank you for all of your advice and practicality, you are a great doc and I will keep returning to you anytime I go abroad.
